About The Position

The Guitar Sessions Office Assistant is a temporary student employment position for the week of the Berklee Guitar Sessions. This position includes tasks such as Amp Crew, Guitar Office Auxiliary, Clinic/Concert Assistant, Jam Assistant, and Event Assistant. Each day of the Guitar Sessions week starts at 9 AM and ends at 10:15 PM, with the exception of Friday which ends at 6 PM. Several students are needed to fill all shifts throughout the week.

Requirements

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program (or pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester if not enrolled in summer).
  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
  • Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.
  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA (students in their first semester are exempt).
  • Federal Work Study students may apply.
  • In good disciplinary standing.
  • Must be located in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the moving, setting up, replacing, and organization of amps used for the Guitar Sessions week.
  • Working the front desk of the Guitar Office, including answering the phone, assisting students and faculty, organizing the office, stocking printers, making coffee, organizing workspace/break area, and delivering documents/keys to classrooms.
  • Working with the artist/faculty member at the venue of their clinic.
  • Working with the faculty member to assist and help organize the nightly Jam Sessions at the assigned venue.
  • Helping with the Welcome Event on Monday by assisting with student check-in.
  • Helping with final performances at the assigned venue on Friday.
  • Helping with the distribution of certificates at the BPC on Friday.
