About The Position

Guitar Center is hiring a part-time Music Teacher to teach music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The teacher helps increase and retain student enrollment while supporting students’ growth, development, and enjoyment of playing music. The role contributes to a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect, and calls for a Customer First mindset and excellent customer experiences. The teacher partners with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students according to community needs, teaches using the Guitar Center Lessons Curriculum, and assists with customer service as needed. The teacher also communicates frequently with students and families, builds trusting relationships, and shares student goals and progress. Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the applicant is proficient.
Demonstrated competency and proficiency in the area to be taught.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons Curriculum.
Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships by creating a great experience.
Communicate frequently with students and families, build trusting relationships, and recognize parents’ knowledge of their child as a music teacher.
Communicate student progress and goals frequently to students and/or their parents.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
