About The Position

As our Guidewire Developer, you will use a variety of tools to help us add functionality and prevent issues in our Guidewire software, specifically in PolicyCenter transitioning several markets to the Guidewire system.

Requirements

• Experience in a production environment.
• Experience with an Agile team or understanding of Agile concepts.
• Prior experience with Guidewire, particularly with PolicyCenter doing integration and configurations.
• Extensive experience with Java, Javascript, SQL, Gosu, IntelliJ, and Studio for coding new features.
• Ability to use Mulesoft to build APIs and React or Node.js to work on digital apps.
• Understanding of Postman, simple object access protocol (SOAP), and representational state transfer (REST).
• Comfortable speaking and presenting in front of 20 or more people.

Responsibilities

• Coding in Gosu, using Studio - a version of IntelliJ customized for Guidewire development.
• Developing sprint stories which may include batches, user interface (UI) changes, message queues, web service integrations, making changes to page configuration files or writing unit tests using Guidewire’s unit testing framework.
• Supporting testing stories by designing or executing testing plans.
• Making presentations to other developers during code review sessions.
• Presenting stories worked on during sprint reviews including the development team as well as product owners and other stakeholders.
• Being on call to triage tickets, troubleshoot, fix bugs, and review logs to get to the root cause of any issues.
• Participating in daily standup meetings.
• Completing projects or stories during sprints.
• Meeting frequent deployment deadlines.
• Integrating with different web services.
• Clarifying and explaining complex technical concepts to others who may be less tech savvy.
