About The Position

Advance quality assurance in the insurance industry by leveraging Guidewire Claims expertise and functional testing within the P&C domain. This hybrid role in Markham supports large-scale digital transformation, combining hands-on validation, cross-team collaboration, and flexibility in a fast-paced, delivery-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in Guidewire Claims validation within the insurance industry.
  • Strong expertise in the Guidewire insurance suite, including Claims, PolicyCenter, and BillingCenter.
  • Proven experience in functional testing within the Property and Casualty insurance domain.
  • Proficiency in testing personal and commercial insurance applications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • High attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cloud-based testing environments is considered an asset.
  • Certification in Guidewire testing or related areas is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of insurance industry standards and regulations is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform claims validation using Guidewire to ensure insurance applications meet business and technical requirements.
  • Execute functional testing within the Property and Casualty insurance domain, covering both personal and commercial lines.
  • Analyze test results, identify defects or bottlenecks, and produce detailed reports with recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and business teams to understand requirements and ensure complete test coverage.
  • Create and maintain test documentation including test plans, test cases, test scripts, and results.
  • Manage and track testing activities and defects using JIRA QE boards.
  • Contribute to digital transformation initiatives by supporting high-impact deliverables and meeting project milestones.
  • Participate in in-person interactions, including at least one on-site interview in Markham.
  • Work on-site at the Markham office a minimum of three days per week.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by supporting extended work hours when required to meet project deadlines.

Benefits

  • Salaried: $60-64 per hour.
  • Incorporated Business Rate: $70-75 per hour.
  • 4-month contract with the potential for permanent employment.
  • Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.
  • Hybrid model: 3 days per week on-site, subject to change.
  • Availability for occasional extended hours.
