Guidewire Application Developer
About The Position
Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Guidewire Application Developer to deliver configuration, integration, and customization across the Guidewire InsuranceSuite—including PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ClaimCenter—and Guidewire Cloud. The role focuses on hands-on Gosu development, integration design, product model configuration, and Guidewire Cloud upgrades, working closely with business analysts and subject-matter experts to deliver reliable insurance-platform features. The ideal candidate has delivered meaningful Guidewire work in production for insurance carriers and understands the trade-offs involved in deep platform customization. The developer will work with product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to turn ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions. The position also involves contributing to code and design reviews and mentoring more junior engineers. The successful candidate brings strong engineering discipline, clear communication, and a record of delivering production-ready work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Five or more years of Guidewire development experience.
- Deep expertise in Gosu programming and the Guidewire data model.
- Hands-on experience customizing PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, or ClaimCenter.
- Strong understanding of product model and rule design.
- Experience building Guidewire integrations, including messaging, batch, and plugins.
- Familiarity with Guidewire Cloud Platform.
- Strong SQL skills and understanding of the Guidewire database schema.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Nice To Haves
- Guidewire ACE certifications.
- Experience with Guidewire Cloud upgrades.
- Familiarity with Guidewire Digital portals or DataHub/InfoCenter.
- Insurance domain expertise across property and casualty lines.
- Experience with reinsurance, policy administration, or claims modernization programs.
Responsibilities
- Configure, integrate, and customize Guidewire InsuranceSuite products, including PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ClaimCenter, and Guidewire Cloud.
- Develop with Gosu and design integrations, product model configurations, and Guidewire Cloud upgrades.
- Collaborate with business analysts and subject-matter experts to deliver reliable insurance-platform features.
- Work with product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and design reviews.
- Mentor more junior engineers.
