About The Position

Monica + Andy is a modern omnichannel brand specializing in baby and children’s clothing and accessories. We’re passionate about creating a warm, high-touch customer experience and building meaningful community through our Guideshops. As we continue to grow, we’re seeking a people-first, results-driven Guideshop Manager to lead our Chicago Lincoln Park location. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives on the sales floor, loves developing teams, and brings equal parts operational rigor and heart to their work. The Guideshop Manager is the on-site leader for the Chicago Lincoln Park Guideshop, responsible for sales performance, team leadership, operational excellence, and delivering a best-in-class customer experience. In addition to primary responsibility for Lincoln Park, this role will provide operational support for the Prentice pop-up location and collaborate with the Director of Channel Sales in supporting the UWS (NY) Guideshop as business needs evolve. The Guideshop Manager partners cross-functionally with Brand Experience, Customer Experience, Merchandising, Marketing, and People teams to ensure the Guideshop delivers a consistent, elevated brand experience. Requirements

  • 5+ years of retail leadership experience, preferably in apparel, specialty retail, or hospitality-driven environments.
  • Experience managing flagship, high-volume, or multi-location retail environments strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience managing and developing high-performing store teams.
  • Strong track record of driving sales results, including conversion and average order value.
  • Experience with store operations, scheduling, inventory management, and merchandising execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver a premium, client-first customer experience.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, hands-on environment where leaders work alongside their teams.
  • Excellent communication skills across in-person, digital, and cross-functional settings.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders, including Marketing, Merchandising, and Customer Experience.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Passion for community-building, events, and experiential retail environments.
  • Alignment with Monica + Andy’s mission, product, and customer base.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Guideshop Stork team, fostering a welcoming, accountable, and high-performing culture.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s and provide ongoing feedback, training, and performance support.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, workflow, and productivity.
  • Handle personnel matters and administrative tasks in partnership with the Director of Channel Sales and Chief People Officer.
  • Educate and enforce brand standards, policies, dress code, and etiquette.
  • Own daily, weekly, and monthly Guideshop performance, including revenue, conversion, and AOV goals.
  • Analyze sales results and identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Recommend and implement best practices to improve sales, operations, and customer engagement.
  • Conduct concierge appointments with customers and new registrants to deliver high-touch experiences.
  • Deliver a world-class, warm, and inclusive customer experience aligned with Monica + Andy’s brand pillars.
  • Coach the team on best-in-class service and selling behaviors.
  • Educate customers on products, culture, and community to drive foot traffic and loyalty.
  • Communicate effectively with customers across in-store, email, chat, phone, and social channels as needed.
  • Support the Customer Experience team during periods of high volume, including Saturdays.
  • Oversee day-to-day Guideshop operations and ensure consistent store readiness.
  • Order supplies, process returns and custom sales, and manage weekly inventory counts.
  • Partner with Merchandising to execute sales-driven merchandising and store layout plans.
  • Ensure safety protocols, security procedures, and staffing coverage are followed at all times.
  • Partner closely with the Head of Brand Experience, who owns planning and strategy for classes and events.
  • Support in-store execution, including setup support and day-of coordination.
  • Ensure the Stork team is prepared to promote upcoming classes and events.
  • Oversee in-store logistics, including check-in support, waivers, payments, and customer flow.
  • Maintain in-store calendars and approved marketing materials.
  • Share customer feedback and attendance insights to inform future programming.
  • Communicate company updates and initiatives clearly to the Guideshop team.
  • Send daily team notes and biweekly updates covering schedules, promotions, launches, and events.
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure alignment across Sales, Brand Experience, CX, Merchandising, Marketing, and People.
