About The Position

Provides guided walking tours in English or the guest’s native language. Assists guests throughout the tour, answering questions whenever possible. Receives guest arrival information and provides initial greeting and orientation.

Requirements

  • Must have a basic knowledge about the various cultural areas encountered during the tour.
  • Requires good health and a voice that can endure up to four hours of speaking in any given time frame.
  • Must be capable of a full range of body movement and be capable of moving freely among the guests.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
  • May be required to be fluent in a designated foreign language.
  • Should be a high school graduate or the equivalent.
  • No prior work experience required.
  • Must attach Resume and SPRING 2026 semester schedule (weekly view only).
  • All applicants must be available for an on-site interview at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie, HI.
  • Must exemplify the university Honor Code, including the Dress and Grooming Principles and Expectations.
  • To start working at BYU–Hawaii and the Polynesian Cultural Center, all new hires must complete the Form I-9 to verify their eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • As part of the I-9 process, prospective employees are required to provide certain documents to prove identity and work authorization. You must bring with you the actual document. No photocopies are allowed.
