About The Position

Blue Canyon Technologies (BCT), RTX's small satellite manufacturer and mission services provider, is seeking a talented and enthusiastic GN&C Engineer Intern to join our BCT Summer in Space Internship program. Applicants must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university and enrolled in the fall semester of 2027. This will be a full-time position for the summer, lasting 11 weeks, starting May 25, 2027. The internship offers hands-on experience in a dynamic and innovative company focused on building, testing, and operating small spacecraft.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a Master's degree or higher from an accredited university in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent technical discipline.
Strong ability to work in teams and collaborate with peers and internal customers.
Strong analytical skills – comfortable working with quantitative and qualitative data.
Ability to learn new processes quickly and effectively multi-task.
Effective communication skills; comfortable working in a team environment; high energy and desire to learn.
Demonstrated leadership experience through school or extracurricular projects.

Responsibilities

Take ownership of specific Internal Research and Development (IRAD) tasks focused on advancing GN&C capabilities and technologies.
Develop simulations and perform analysis across GN&C subsystem functions, including attitude dynamics, control algorithms, and sensor/actuator performance, with limited oversight from a mentor.
Develop and manage system requirements and verification techniques, with limited oversight from a mentor.
Lead or significantly contribute to the development and execution of GN&C test methods and plans for new developments.
Engage in hands-on opportunities including spacecraft launches, hardware testing campaigns, mission operations, and other exciting program milestones.
Perform other duties as assigned.
