About The Position

DPP is seeking a Guidance, Navigation and Control Engineer III for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace and Defense industry. This role involves using skills and expertise to design and test algorithms, flight software, related hardware, design tools, simulations, and more for various aerospace vehicles. These cover a very wide range of advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft. The engineer will explore complex GN&C algorithms and systems to assess performance of vehicle flight qualities and capabilities. Technical duties involve design, development, evaluation, and test of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Understanding of engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools, analysis and simulation.
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering or other related discipline.
  • Typically 6 or more years of experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with system modeling tools, such as MATLAB/Simulink, or C++.
  • Experience with related aerospace vehicles, sensors suites, and missions.
  • Experience with Guidance and/or Navigation algorithm development.
  • Exposure to vehicle stability principles, and Monte Carlo and trajectory analysis.
  • Knowledge of industry standard aerospace principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, fundamentals of flight dynamics.
  • History of leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of highly integrated trade studies and analysis of alternatives.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.
