About The Position

The Rockwell Museum is seeking enthusiastic individuals to support Guest Services and Event Setup operations. This is a part-time to full-time contract position hired through a staffing agency, offering the opportunity to work in one of Corning's premier cultural destinations. The role involves greeting visitors, selling admissions and merchandise, assisting with the KIDS ROCKWELL Art Lab, and supporting event setup and breakdown.

Requirements

  • Friendly, outgoing, and customer-service oriented.
  • Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
  • Comfortable handling cash, technology, and basic computer systems.
  • Able to lift event equipment and remain on their feet for extended periods.
  • Flexible and available to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Comfortable interacting with a diverse range of visitors, including children and families.
  • Detail-oriented and able to follow directions effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist museum visitors with a warm, professional attitude.
  • Sell admissions, memberships, and Museum Store merchandise.
  • Answer visitor questions and help create an exceptional guest experience.
  • Support activities at the KIDS ROCKWELL Art Lab.
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown, including tables, chairs, podiums, and equipment.
  • Prepare spaces for receptions, concerts, lectures, private events, and other museum programs.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.
