About The Position

The Guest Services Associate reports directly to the Guest Services Team and is responsible for providing an inclusive, welcoming environment for LMC guests. The Guest Service Associate facilitates daily guest services on campus including daily program registration management, way-finding support, delivering exhibit and program information, swift attendance to guest inquiries, and assisting with conflict resolution. The Guest Services Associate is also responsible for providing administrative support to the Guest Services Department, ensuring efficient and transparent guest-staff communication. This is an hourly and non-exempt, part-time position with 25 hours per week. The successful incumbent may be required to perform tasks beyond the scope of this job description as requested by the supervisor. This recruitment may be used to select candidates for additional open positions. It is our policy that all team members, including newly hired, transferred, and promoted team members, will be carefully monitored, and evaluated for an initial introductory 3-month period on the job. After satisfactory completion of the introductory evaluation, such team members will be evaluated on an annual basis.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years relevant professional experience in hospitality or retail.
  • Positive attitude and energetic approach to work and communication.
  • Exceptional communication and public speaking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with aptitude for active listening.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates daily operations in the LMC Welcome Center including informing guests and volunteers of daily programming, wayfinding, guest relations and Guest Services volunteer training and support.
  • Provides administrative support to the Guest Services Department, including email and phone communications and on-campus program registration processing including cash handling.
  • Maintains and fosters a professional and inclusive atmosphere at LMC’s Welcome Center and across campus, embracing and modeling outstanding customer service to all.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for program-related inquiries on campus and online.
  • Responsible for the overall cleanliness, organization and management of the Welcome Center and Welcome Desk.
  • Maintains high visibility throughout LMC’s campus and strives to remain readily accessible to guests and Guest Services volunteer staff.
  • Promotes LMC experiences for higher levels of on-campus guest engagement, including educational programs, VIP experiences, events, volunteer opportunities, etc.
  • Communicates timely feedback to staff from guest comments, personal observations and to continually motivate staff to improve the guest experience.
  • Assists with recruitment and training efforts of the Department, including at volunteer onboarding events and continuing education for LMC volunteer staff.
  • Assists in special project development under the direction and supervision of the Guest Services managing staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
