Guest Services Associate - Per Diem (varied shifts) NMC & HMC
About The Position
Per Diem Guest Services Associates are needed to cover both Hackettstown Medical Center and Newton Medical Center locations, working varied shifts between 6:00 AM and 11:00 PM, including every other weekend. The starting rate is $20.83/hr. This role serves as the first point of contact for visitors, creating a positive first impression while ensuring facility access protocols are followed. The position involves providing directions, managing communications, and supporting administrative tasks. Successful candidates must be able to handle multiple inquiries calmly and professionally, demonstrating flexibility in assisting patients, visitors, and family members.
Requirements
- HS Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Candidate must possess strong communication, interpersonal and de-escalation skills.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and remain attentive to visitor needs. (Frequent walking, standing).
- Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50lbs including but not limited to pushing wheelchairs.
- Excellent problem-solving and multitasking abilities a must.
Nice To Haves
- 0-3 years of Customer Service experience preferred.
- Retail experienced preferred.
- Bilingual preferred.
Responsibilities
- Courteously greets everyone requesting to enter the facility, acts as the first point of contact and creates first impression on the visitors.
- Collects required identification and follows screening protocols.
- Documents according to CDC Guidelines.
- Provides direction, guidance, and information pertaining to the facility.
- Handles and routes all incoming phone calls/mails.
- Supports other administrative staff with support overflow work, including word processing, data entry and internet research tasks.
- Must be able to manage multiple inquiries in a calm and professional manner.
- Able to multitask and be flexible with facilitating inquiries for patients, visitors, and family members.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
