About The Position

This position is responsible for cleaning, setting up, and servicing conference spaces and guest activity areas. The Guest Services Assistant serves as a host for guest groups, maintaining excellent interpersonal skills and professional, cheerful customer service communications. Key responsibilities include ensuring conference areas are set up, operating AV/sound/lighting equipment, replacing light bulbs, and participating in facility housekeeping. This includes cleaning public restrooms, replenishing supplies, emptying trash, and performing floor care. The role may involve opening and closing buildings for events and acting as the primary host for groups, coordinating their needs and ensuring satisfaction. Assistance with recreational activities and consistent evening and weekend work are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • Two years’ experience in camping ministry and/or hospitality related industry including experience leading the work of others, OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Valid State Driver’s License required with the ability to meet Salvation Army driving requirements for insurance purposes and remain qualified to drive a Salvation Army vehicle throughout the course of employment in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures set ups are completed for conference areas
  • Sets up and operates AV / sound / lighting
  • Ensures all light bulbs are in working order and replaces them as necessary
  • Participates in facility housekeeping to ensure meeting and activity areas are properly cleaned and maintained
  • Cleans public restrooms and replenishes supplies
  • Empties trash cans regularly in meeting rooms and public areas
  • Performs floor care and floor maintenance
  • May open and/or close buildings as scheduled at beginning and conclusion of events
  • Serves as host for groups, coordinating and overseeing the provision of all group needs
  • Acts as the face of the organization to ensure that all groups are fully satisfied with their experience
  • Coordinates activities with multiple groups
  • Assists with recreational activities as needed
  • Works evenings and weekends on a consistent basis
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements
  • Ability to lead potential users in tours of the camp facilities
  • Ability to drive a golf cart
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively
  • Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and time constraints
