The Museum’s Fine Art of Hospitality training program and specific service standards are essential for this role. The Guest Services Ambassador will greet and assist guests, ensuring a welcoming and friendly environment. Responsibilities include selling and reserving various tickets and memberships, managing guest entrance during high-traffic periods, and redirecting guests to alternative experiences when necessary. The role also involves participating in curatorial briefings, approaching guests to understand their interests and share knowledge about the museum’s collections and exhibitions, and making recommendations to enhance their visit. Distributing guest resources, enforcing museum policies (photography, touching), and understanding emergency procedures are also key duties. The ambassador must remain alert to ensure guest safety, deter security concerns, and recognize and address issues with signage, wayfinding, and obstructions to ensure efficient guest flow. Additional tasks may be assigned by a supervisor.
