About The Position

The Carbon Valley Parks and Recreation District strives to increase and enhance recreational opportunities by providing a variety of quality programs and activities for the residents of Frederick, Firestone, Dacono, and surrounding communities. Requirements

  • Must be available to work all shifts including days, nights, weekends, and some holidays based on the needs of the District.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • 6 months working in a recreation center or similar setting.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • CPR, AED, first aid certification, or the ability to become certified within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Basic computer knowledge with programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with CivicRec and Paylocity.

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of District programs and offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Opening and closing the building independently, including overseeing building access, operating safe codes, and handling advanced cash procedures.
  • Providing direct customer service to community members, guests, and staff.
  • Assisting with program and membership registrations.
  • Answering phone calls at the recreation center and serving as a central communication point to relay information from all departments to the public.
  • Serving as Manager on Duty in absence of Coordinators.
  • Assisting in facility supervision.
  • Responsible for cash handling procedures, opening or securing the facility and assisting in maintaining facilities in a clean, neat and safe manner.
  • Supporting and overseeing drop-in activities and programs in the facility.
  • Troubleshooting and reporting any concerns of these programs.
  • Maintaining regular and punctual attendance.
  • Providing excellent customer service in a timely manner to internal and external customers, patrons.
  • Answering questions and processing memberships, classes, program enrollments, facility rentals, etc.
  • Communicating internally and externally via email, phone and in-person to supervisors, co-workers, participants, parents, volunteers, and other community members.
  • Attending staff meetings and departmental trainings.
  • Conducting building tours for community members.
  • Performing basic janitorial functions in facilities to include but not limited to mopping floors, taking out trash, cleaning up spills, and cleaning fitness equipment.
  • Enforcing rules and policies with staff and guests within the building.
