About The Position

The Renaissance Minneapolis Bloomington Hotel is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Guest Room Preventive Maintenance & Deep Cleaning Technician to help us keep our guestrooms and public spaces looking and working their best. This is a full-time, daytime position that combines preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and detailed cleaning. You’ll work closely with our Engineering and Housekeeping teams and play an important role in making sure every guest walks into a room that is clean, comfortable, functional, and ready to impress. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work and is looking for a consistent daytime hotel position focused on maintaining and improving the condition of our guestrooms.

Requirements

  • Has strong attention to detail and can identify things that don't look or work the way they should.
  • Is comfortable completing basic maintenance and repair work.
  • Takes pride in cleanliness and the overall appearance of a finished guest room.
  • Can work independently and manage assigned rooms and projects efficiently.
  • Is dependable, organized, and able to prioritize work.
  • Works well with both Housekeeping and Engineering teams.
  • Stand and walk for up to an 8-hour shift.
  • Bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Lift, push, pull, and rotate 50 pounds or more.
  • Safely use basic hand tools and maintenance equipment.
  • Climb stairs and ladders as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hotel, housekeeping, facilities, construction, or general maintenance experience is helpful but not required.
  • Trade school training or General Maintenance/Technician certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Complete scheduled guest room preventive maintenance programs, including CARE, RPM, and GCPM.
  • Inspect guestrooms from top to bottom and identify maintenance or cleanliness issues before they affect a guest.
  • Complete minor repairs, including tightening hardware, toilet seats, fixtures, and other room components.
  • Patch small wall holes and touch up paint on walls, doors, furniture, and other surfaces.
  • Inspect and repair grout, caulking, and finishes in guest bathrooms.
  • Replace light bulbs and other approved minor electrical components.
  • Check room fixtures, hardware, furniture, and appliances to ensure they are present and working properly.
  • Inspect mattresses, box springs, and bed frames, and rotate or flip mattresses as needed.
  • Move furniture as needed to vacuum and clean behind and underneath it.
  • Spot clean carpets, upholstery, and other soft surfaces.
  • Perform detailed guest room cleaning in accordance with Marriott Power of Clean standards, including tubs, tile, hard floors, walls, windows, mirrors, fixtures, and other detailed areas.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and detailed cleaning in meeting rooms and public spaces as assigned.
  • Identify and report larger maintenance concerns, unusual conditions, or safety hazards that require additional Engineering support.
  • Maintain an organized work area and properly care for tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Work closely with Housekeeping and Engineering to ensure rooms meet Renaissance and Marriott standards.
