About The Position

This is a relief position that serves as substitute coverage for paid time off and will typically pick from available shifts that change weekly. The Guest + Family Experience Associate (Relief) at Ronald McDonald House Tampa Bay will demonstrate excellent customer service skills and a compassionate, family-centered approach aligned with the mission of Ronald McDonald House. The role involves providing exceptional guest service and support, assisting with guest needs and requests in a compassionate, family-centered manner, and responding calmly and effectively to emergencies while supporting families. Duties also include performing housekeeping duties, ensuring proper guest registration and check-out procedures, and learning and using database systems to track guest information and generate reports. This position requires reliable transportation for occasional supply pickups and the ability to handle sensitive situations with confidentiality, decorum, and empathy. The role requires a High School Diploma and may involve occasional attendance at special events/functions of the organization.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma Required
  • Two years basic management experience preferred
  • Must meet healthcare requirements of partner hospital
  • Complete biannual CPR training
  • Complete annual fire alarm training
  • Demonstrate an understanding and sensitivity toward the intersections of ability, class, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, race, religion/spirituality, and sexual orientation
  • Strong customer service skills with compassion and professionalism
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn and work with database systems (training provided)
  • Housekeeping or cleaning experience or willingness to perform duties
  • Reliable transportation for occasional supply pickups (mileage reimbursed)
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with confidentiality, decorum, and empathy
  • Ability to read and comprehend documents and instruments
  • Must perform detailed work utilizing reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Complete multiple concurrent tasks with constant interruptions
  • Possess excellent oral and written communications skills, interpersonal skills at all levels of the non-profit field, and organizational skills
  • Must be able to serve as a pro-active resource for guests, staff, and community members
  • Ability to push up to 50 pounds and lift up to 40 pounds
  • Pre-employment background screening

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional guest service and support
  • Assist with guest needs and requests in a compassionate, family-centered manner
  • Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies while supporting families
  • Perform housekeeping duties, including wiping down surfaces, restocking supplies, keeping shared spaces clean, safe, and welcoming for families
  • May assist with turning over guest rooms as needed
  • Ensure proper guest registration and check-out procedures
  • Learn and use database systems to track guest information and generate reports
  • Occasional supply pickups (mileage reimbursed)
  • Occasional attendance at special events/functions of the organization
