About The Position

The Guest Experience Lead is responsible for developing leaders, systems, and volunteer teams that shape first impressions, ensuring every person who enters VRL feels welcomed, cared for, and connected. This role aims to create a culture of hospitality that reflects Christ’s love. The primary focus is on overseeing the full guest experience from arrival to departure, identifying and connecting first-time guests, and ensuring ministry areas remain healthy and operational.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years’ experience in a similar role preferred
  • HS Diploma plus experience, or education relating to field of expertise.
  • Experience leading volunteers required.
  • Attend VRL church services on a regular basis
  • Have attended a DNA class/The Journey and signed a membership agreement
  • Be in full alignment with VRL's mission, vision, beliefs, and culture.
  • Be in a Life Group on a regular basis
  • Committed to regular giving of income to God through VRL
  • Abiding in Christ and continuing to grow toward Christlikeness and spiritual maturity.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule as there are seasons of irregular work hours based on various church activities.
  • Attend monthly All Staff meeting and participate in department meetings or other meetings when requested to do so.
  • Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment among our staff and complete the work necessary to fully serve and support the ministries and events of Valley Real Life.
  • Successful completion of a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, develop, and coach volunteers who can effectively lead Guest Experience ministries, multiply leadership, and build healthy volunteer teams.
  • Foster a volunteer culture that is engaging, empowering and connected to the ABCD Discipleship Pathway.
  • Oversee the full guest experience from parking lot to departure, ensuring first-time guests are identified, welcomed, and connected to next steps.
  • Create and maintain welcoming environments, clear signage, and effective guest-facing processes.
  • Develop systems, processes, and checklists that ensure consistent ministry execution.
  • Coordinate communication and collaboration between Guest Experience, Campus Pastor, Security, Facilities, Café, and ministry teams.
  • Anticipate challenges and proactively implement solutions.
  • Ensure ministry areas remain healthy, staffed, and operational regardless of volunteer turnover.
  • Provide leadership, support, and operational excellence for Greeters, Ushers, Café, Communion, Parking & Signage, Lobby & Guest Environments, and First-Time Guest Experience.
