About The Position

Guest Experience Attendants at Smith Tower are the first line of customer service for guests visiting this historic landmark. They guide guests through ticket purchases, present exhibits and programs, and offer recommendations for retail, food and beverage, and events. This role is ideal for someone inspired by history and passionate about sharing it with others.

Requirements

  • One (1) Year experience with Guest Services and Customer Service within the hospitality and attractions industry.
  • The ability to solve practical problems when only limited standardization exists.
  • Able to work all times of business operations including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong communication skills, including correspondence via phone, messages, and email.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from team members, clients, guests, or the public.
  • Strong computer skills: Able to use Point of Sale Electronic Software.
  • Proficient in Smith Tower’s Ticketing System FareHarbor.

Responsibilities

  • Create a welcoming and fun environment by greeting guests with a smile and providing friendly assistance.
  • Handle ticket sales and retail transactions efficiently at the observatory entrance and admissions area.
  • Promote Smith Tower’s consumer events.
  • Assist with waitlist seating for the 35th Floor and oversee guest control for ticketed events.
  • Deliver excellent guest services.
  • Welcome guests within the attraction, explain payment processes, and guide them on tour capabilities.
  • Share the history and highlights of Smith Tower with guests, both at the entrance and in the elevator.
  • Escort guests to the 35th floor, engaging them with interesting conversations about Smith Tower’s history and culture.
  • Keep the entryway, exhibits, and public areas tidy and up to date.
  • Exhibit a warm and professional demeanor to ensure an exceptional guest experience in the Smith Tower Admissions/Guest Service lobby and elevator.
  • Perform opening and closing duties such as restocking, inventory management, opening awnings, sweeping, mopping, and refilling water for guest perks.
  • Work with the departmental lead to ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for opening, midday, and closing are completed.
  • Answer all inbound calls from guests and provide information clearly and professionally.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the box office, museum, point of sale stations, restrooms, storage areas, and shared team member spaces.
  • Communicate effectively with other team members and supervisors on guest flow management and other requests.
  • Assist the Manager with managing guest flow and use positive suggestive selling techniques.
  • Offer suggestions and aid workflow for management, and cover shifts for various Guest Experience positions as needed.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned by management to support the overall guest experience.
