Guest Experience Associate - CocoNene International Market Place
About The Position

At CocoNene, the connection to Hawaiʻi runs from the artists behind our designs to the teammates making products at our Kapolei factory and sharing them in our stores. Our locally made décor, gifts and personalized products connect creative, manufacturing and retail work here in Hawaiʻi. We’re looking for curious, engaged people for our flagship International Market Place store. This is active, hands-on retail: you’ll move throughout the store, start conversations, help guests personalize products and support teammates through changing priorities. The register is one part of the job; active guest engagement is central to every shift.
Requirements
- Warm communication, reliability, initiative and a willingness to learn.
- Comfortable working toward shared goals, asking questions and applying feedback.
- Desire to build skills and contribute to the team over time.
- Retail or hospitality experience is helpful, but not required.
- Japanese-language differential: An additional $1/hour for team members who demonstrate conversational Japanese sufficient to assist guests with products and purchases. Japanese is helpful, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests, ask thoughtful questions and recommend products that fit their interests.
- Share product stories, artist connections and our local manufacturing process.
- Help guests explore personalization and create meaningful gifts.
- Contribute to shared sales goals through helpful service and relevant recommendations.
- Notice guests and teammates who need support, and take action.
- Keep displays stocked and inviting; assist with wrapping, register transactions and opening and closing.
- Apply coaching, practice new approaches and take increasing ownership.
Benefits
- Guaranteed base pay: $20/hour.
- Daily team bonus: After completing initial training, eligible teammates earn an additional $2/hour for all hours worked on days the store achieves its daily sales-per-customer goal.
