About The Position

Gunston Hall is seeking a part-time Guest Engagement Associate for its historic site in Fairfax County, Virginia. This role is crucial in fulfilling Gunston Hall's mission by providing excellent customer service and interactions with visitors. The site includes vast grounds and an indoor rental space used for private events such as weddings, meetings, and conferences, as well as large-scale festival programs. A museum shop within the Visitor Center offers a variety of items for guests. This position reports to the Guest Engagement Manager.

Requirements

Excellent customer service and communication skills
Responsibility and trustworthiness
Ability to use a POS system
Ability to lift up to 25lb
Ability to work with staff in other departments and outside professionals
Knowledge of basic office procedures and equipment such as computers, telephone systems, audio-visual equipment, and cash registers
Ability to maintain an electronic calendar to schedule events
Must be available to work a flexible schedule to include both weekdays, weekends and holidays

Experience at a historic site or museum, or other position providing guest services
Knowledge of event, hospitality, and/or tourism management
