The Guest Advocate role at Target focuses on creating an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience. Advocates are knowledgeable about Target's in-store and digital services, driving adoption and guest loyalty. They ensure shopping is quick and easy at various touchpoints like checklanes, guest services, and pickup areas, while maintaining exceptional quality.   • Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving product up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds.
  • Flexibility in picking up shifts (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays) to meet store needs.
  • Active engagement by picking up and working shifts and responding to contact attempts.
  • Must work at least one shift within 5 months or employment will be administratively terminated.
  • Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements.
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests with a smile, make eye contact, or wave from 10 feet away.
  • Greet the guest from 4 feet away, smile, and initiate a warm, helpful interaction.
  • Help guests find what they need and resolve issues to ensure a smooth, easy shopping experience.
  • End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you.
  • Actively support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude.
  • Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience.
  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard.
  • Scan and bag all guest items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices.
  • Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining guest service and accuracy.
  • Inform guests about current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events.
  • Educate guests on the benefits of Target Loyalty programs and assist with sign-up and sign-in.
  • Be familiar with all fulfillment services and direct guests on how to enroll, activate, and use them.
  • Understand and show guests how to use Wallet and other features within the Target App.
  • Process returns, following register prompts, and partner with leaders to resolve guest issues according to Target's policies.
  • Partner with leaders to de-escalate situations and recover the guest shopping experience.
  • Provide easy and accurate service for Order Pick Up, Drive-Up, and Registry guests.
  • Maintain a clean and clutter-free work area, including gathering abandoned items, baskets, and hangers.
  • Stock supplies during store open hours while remaining available for guests.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times, comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training, and report hazards.
  • Support guest services like Order Pick Up (OPU) and Drive-Up (DU) Orders and Returns, ensuring compliance with laws such as adult beverage regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.
