About The Position

This role is for an On-Demand Team Member (TM) at Target, specifically in a Small Format store. As an On-Demand TM, you can work as much or as little as you like, with a flexible schedule that varies based on shift availability and store needs. You will not be on a posted weekly schedule but will create your own by picking up shifts via the myTime mobile scheduling app. Reliable attendance is necessary when you pick up a shift. You are required to pick up and work at least one shift every four weeks (minimum of four hours) and respond to attempts to contact you regarding shift availability. Failure to respond or work a shift within five months can lead to termination. Communication and the ability to work during peak business demands are critical. Upon offer, you will attend a Target Welcome orientation and a short-term structured training schedule. Small Format stores focus on ensuring product is in stock, accurately priced, and signed on the sales floor. Team members are experts in service, operations, process, and efficiency, proficient in all areas of the store including cashiering, stocking, presentation, and price accuracy. You will provide exceptional guest service, customizing experiences and anticipating needs. This role offers meaningful experiences to build skills for a career in guest service fundamentals, retail business, and supporting daily workloads to meet sales goals.

  • Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 15 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving merchandise and fixtures up to 44 pounds without assistance.
  • Flexibility when picking up shifts (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays) to help meet store needs.
  • Active engagement by picking up and working shifts and responding to contact attempts.
  • Must work at least one shift within 5 months or employment will be administratively terminated.
  • Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements.
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly, smile, make eye contact, and initiate helpful interactions.

  • Actively support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude.
  • Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience.
  • Help guests while completing workload with minimal disruption.
  • Work in all departments to ensure the sales floor is full, zoned, and in stock.
  • Assist with truck unload process and stock product to the sales floor.
  • Execute adjacency changes, transitions, revisions, and sales plans for all departments.
  • Conduct weekly price change workload and ensure regular and promotional signing is set accurately.
  • Complete scans and system audit functions to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Support execution of major transitions.
  • Maintain interior and exterior brand standards, including emptying garbage, attending to restroom cleanliness, collecting carts, charging electronic carts, recycling, and attending to spills.
  • Accurately execute all Fills (fill the floor, liability fills, guest requests, and backstock product from all departments).
  • Process all inbound deliveries using the receive application to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Complete all backroom weekly audits.
  • Operate power equipment if certified.
  • Maintain backroom organization and location accuracy and follow equipment guidelines.
  • Follow processes accurately with attention to detail, monitor own progress, and prioritize tasks.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times, comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training, and report/correct hazards.
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pickup (OPU), and Drive-up (DU), maintaining compliance with laws (e.g., adult beverage laws).
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.
