About The Position

This role is for an On-Demand Team Member (TM) at Target, specifically in a Small Format Store. As an On-Demand TM, you have the flexibility to work as much or as little as you like, with a schedule that varies based on shift availability and store needs. You will not be on a posted weekly schedule but can create your own by picking up shifts via the myTime mobile scheduling app. Reliable attendance is crucial when you pick up a shift. You are required to pick up and work at least one shift every four weeks (minimum of four hours) and respond to attempts to contact you regarding shift availability. Failure to respond or work a shift within five months can lead to termination. Communication and the ability to work during peak business demands are critical. Upon offer, you will attend a Target Welcome orientation and a short-term structured training schedule. The role involves ensuring product is in stock, accurately priced, and signed on the sales floor. You will provide exceptional guest service, anticipate guest needs, and be proficient in all areas of the store, including cashiering, stocking, and presentation. This role offers meaningful experiences to build skills for a career in retail business fundamentals, guest service, and supporting business priorities.

  • Flexibility in picking up shifts (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays) to meet store needs.
  • Active engagement by picking up and working shifts and responding to contact attempts.
  • Must work at least one shift within 5 months or employment will be administratively terminated.
  • Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements.
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly, smile, make eye contact, and initiate helpful interactions.
  • Help guests find what they need and resolve issues to ensure a smooth shopping experience.
  • End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you.
  • Actively support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude.
  • Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience.
  • Help guests while completing workload with minimal disruption.
  • Work in all departments to ensure the sales floor is full, zoned, and in stock.
  • Assist with truck unload process and stock product to the sales floor.
  • Execute adjacency changes, transitions, revisions, and sales plans for all departments.
  • Conduct weekly price change workload and ensure signing is set accurately.
  • Complete scans and system audit functions to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Support execution of major transitions.
  • Maintain interior and exterior brand standards, including emptying garbage, attending to restroom cleanliness, collecting carts, charging electronic carts, recycling, and attending to spills.
  • Accurately execute all Fills (fill the floor, liability fills, guest requests, and backstock product from all departments).
  • Process all inbound deliveries using the receive application to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Complete all backroom weekly audits.
  • Operate power equipment if certified.
  • Maintain backroom organization and location accuracy, and follow equipment guidelines.
  • Follow processes accurately with attention to detail, monitor own progress, and prioritize tasks.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times, comply with safety policies, and report hazards.
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pickup (OPU), and Drive-up (DU).
  • Maintain a compliance culture while executing duties, including adult beverage laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.
