About The Position

This role is for an On-Demand Team Member (TM) at Target, specifically in small format stores. As an On-Demand TM, you will have the flexibility to create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members via the myTime mobile scheduling app. This role is ideal for those seeking a personalized work schedule. You will not be included on the posted weekly schedule. Reliable and prompt attendance is necessary when you pick up a shift. You are required to pick up and work shifts at least once every 4 weeks (minimum of four hours) and respond to attempts to contact you to confirm interest in working shifts. Failure to respond to contact attempts may result in termination, and failure to work at least one shift within 5 months will lead to administrative termination. Communication and the ability to work when business demands are critical. Upon offer, you will attend a Target Welcome orientation and a short-term structured training schedule. After training, the myTime mobile scheduling app will be used to pick up desired shifts. In small format stores, you will enable a consistent guest experience by ensuring product is in stock, available, accurately priced, and signed on the sales floor. You will be proficient in all areas of the store, including cashiering, stocking, presentation, and price accuracy. You will provide exceptional guest service, customizing each experience and anticipating guest needs. This role offers meaningful experiences to build and develop skills for a career in guest service fundamentals, retail business fundamentals, and supporting daily/weekly workloads to meet business priorities and sales goals.

  • Active engagement by picking up and working shifts and responding to attempts at contact.
  • Must work at least one shift within 5 months or employment will be administratively terminated.
  • Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties (e.g., Drive-Up, carryout).
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary).

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests with a friendly demeanor, making eye contact or waving from 10 feet away.
  • Initiate a warm, helpful interaction with guests from 4 feet away, smiling.
  • Help guests find what they need and resolve issues to ensure a smooth, easy shopping experience.

  • Help guests while completing workload with minimal disruption.
  • Work in all departments to ensure the sales floor is full, zoned, and in stock for guests.
  • Assist with truck unload process and stock product to the sales floor.
  • Execute adjacency changes, transitions, revisions, and sales plans for all departments.
  • Conduct weekly price change workload and ensure regular and promotional signing is set accurately for all departments.
  • Complete scans and system audit functions to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Support execution of major transitions.
  • Maintain interior and exterior brand standards, including emptying garbage cans, attending to restroom cleanliness, collecting carts, charging electronic carts, recycling, and attending to spills.
  • Accurately execute all Fills (fill the floor, liability fills, guest requests, and backstock product from all departments).
  • Process all inbound deliveries using the receive application to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Complete all backroom weekly audits.
  • Operate power equipment if certified.
  • Maintain backroom organization and location accuracy and follow equipment guidelines.
  • Follow processes accurately with attention to detail, monitor own progress, and accurately prioritize tasks.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times, comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training, and report hazards and correct them where possible.
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pickup (OPU), and Drive-up (DU), and maintain a compliance culture while executing these duties, including compliance with adult beverage laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.
