The Guest Advocate role at Target involves ensuring a consistent guest experience by maintaining product availability, accurate pricing, and proper sales floor presentation in small format stores. Team members are empowered to create their own schedules by picking up shifts via the myTime mobile scheduling app, offering flexibility for those seeking a personalized work schedule. Reliable attendance and active engagement by working shifts are crucial. New hires will attend a Target Welcome orientation and complete a structured training schedule.

  • Occasionally lift or move merchandise and fixtures up to 44 pounds without assistance.
  • Flexibility in picking up shifts (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays) to meet store needs.
  • Active engagement by picking up and working shifts and responding to contact attempts.
  • Must work at least one shift within 5 months or employment will be administratively terminated.
  • Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements.
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members via the myTime mobile scheduling app.
  • Pick up and work shifts once every 4 weeks (minimum of four hours).
  • Respond to attempts to contact you to confirm interest in working shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly, make eye contact, and initiate helpful interactions.
  • Assist guests in finding products and resolving issues to ensure a smooth shopping experience.
  • End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you.
  • Actively support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience.
  • Help guests while completing workload with minimal disruption.
  • Work in all departments to ensure the sales floor is full, zoned, and stocked.
  • Assist with truck unload process and stock product to the sales floor.
  • Execute adjacency changes, transitions, revisions, and sales plans for all departments.
  • Conduct weekly price change workload and ensure regular and promotional signing is set accurately.
  • Complete scans and system audit functions to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Support execution of major transitions.
  • Maintain interior and exterior brand standards, including cleanliness and cart management.
  • Accurately execute all Fills (fill the floor, liability fills, guest requests, and backstock product).
  • Process all inbound deliveries using the receive application to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Complete all backroom weekly audits.
  • Operate power equipment if certified.
  • Maintain backroom organization and location accuracy.
  • Follow processes accurately with attention to detail, monitor progress, and prioritize tasks.
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times, comply with safety policies, and report hazards.
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pickup (OPU), and Drive-up (DU).
  • Maintain a compliance culture while executing duties, including adult beverage laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.
