The Hot Section Engineering (HSE) department is responsible for the design, development, technology maturation and in service support of all diffuser cases, combustors, turbines (vanes, blades, rotors and cases), augmenters (military), nozzles and associated fuel systems for all military, commercial and industrial engine models and radial auxiliary power units. Technical disciplines in HSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Durability and Product Definition.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • 5 years of engineering experience or 3 years with an advanced degree
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access certain necessary systems.

  • Diffuser/Combustor engineering experience
  • Experience in engineering activities related to products in service.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with engineering standard work
  • Experience with Class I and II EC process
  • Experience with fault tree investigation tool
  • Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Proficiency in Teamcenter, NX

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of designers executing on key deliverables in support GTF diffuser & combustor milestones including executing on class I ECs, responding to field events and investigations, identifying opportunities for product improvement changes, integrating across modules.
  • Mentor less experienced engineers and interface with other disciplines including aero, durability, structures, and manufacturing.
  • Responsible for the execution of mechanical design engineering standard work.
  • Communicating formally and informally with CIPT and program customers.
