About The Position

The Learning Experience – South Lyon is seeking a qualified GSRP Assistant Teacher to support their state-funded preschool classroom serving 4-year-old learners. This role is ideal for an early childhood educator who enjoys working in a structured school-readiness environment and partnering closely with a Lead Teacher to support children’s academic and social development. At The Learning Experience, early education is made joyful, engaging, and fun, focusing on the six ages and stages of early childhood development through hands-on learning activities. The curriculum encourages children to explore and solve problems at their own rate, forming a foundation to Learn, Play, and Grow under the care of nurturing teachers and staff. The company utilizes a full cast of characters to engage children in their preschool education journey, each with a unique personality and area of interest to bring learning to life through fun and imagination. This specific franchise is independently owned and operated, and all hiring decisions are made by the franchisee's management.

Requirements

  • Must meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements

Nice To Haves

  • CDA credential or Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
  • Experience working in a preschool classroom strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with GSRP or state-funded preschool programs a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support daily instruction in a GSRP preschool classroom for 4-year-old children
  • Assist with implementation of developmentally appropriate learning activities
  • Promote school readiness through structured routines and guided learning experiences
  • Support children’s social-emotional growth and classroom participation
  • Maintain accurate documentation as required by GSRP program standards
  • Help ensure compliance with Michigan licensing and GSRP regulations
  • Collaborate closely with the Lead Teacher and center leadership
  • Communicate professionally with families as needed
