About The Position

The GSOC Analyst serves as a front-line monitor and initial responder within New York Life’s 24/7 Global Security Operations Center (GSOC). In this role, Analysts monitor external events and physical-security systems, assess incidents that may affect employees, facilities, executive travel, company events, or business operations, and communicate timely information to appropriate stakeholders. GSOC Analysts serve as a central point of contact for security and safety events, coordinate initial response and escalation, and support crisis-management response with internal security and business partners. Through these responsibilities, the GSOC helps protect New York Life’s employees, facilities, and business operations worldwide. This role works assigned shifts within a 24/7 schedule, including day, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday coverage. This is a physical-security operations and intelligence role, not a cybersecurity position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as criminal justice, intelligence studies, emergency management, and homeland security, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience preferred
  • 0–3 years of experience in security operations, emergency communications or dispatch, intelligence, corporate security, or a similar 24/7 monitoring environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize information into clear, concise incident communications and briefings in a timely manner
  • Ability to assess incomplete or evolving information, exercise sound judgment, and escalate incidents in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with, or ability to learn, incident-management frameworks, intelligence systems, case-management tools, access-control systems, and escalation procedures
  • Basic understanding of physical security, geopolitical risk, and technology or operational disruptions that may affect employee safety, facilities, or business operations, including the ability to evaluate source credibility
  • Familiarity with open-source intelligence (OSINT) techniques and social media platforms for threat research, incident monitoring and situational awareness purposes
  • Ability to work assigned shifts within a 24/7 schedule, including day, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday coverage, and extended hours during significant incidents or crisis periods. Must remain on duty until properly relieved
  • Strong attention to detail and effective organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive security and employee information appropriately
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while remaining professional and composed during high-pressure situations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications and web-based platforms, with the ability to learn specialized security and intelligence systems

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze inbound alerts from intelligence sources and vendors to identify geopolitical, security, and other external events that may affect New York Life employees, executive travel, company events, facilities, or business operations
  • Prepare and disseminate timely, accurate incident notifications, intelligence updates, and briefings to appropriate stakeholders using established communication channels
  • Monitor video surveillance, access-control, intrusion-detection, and other physical-security systems for alarms and suspicious activity
  • Assess building security incidents, coordinate site response, support access-control requests, and escalate events affecting employee safety or office operations
  • Serve as the primary intake point for emergency and non-emergency calls involving employee safety, physical security, facilities, and business disruptions
  • Support crisis-management response by coordinating incident escalations, emergency communications, and providing timely updates to responding teams and leadership
  • Document incidents, actions taken, and follow-up activity in the case management system, and communicate relevant information during shift turnover
