About The Position

The Ground Service Mechanic is responsible for general troubleshooting and repair work on gas/diesel engines and associated systems, electrical systems, transmissions, gears, brakes, and all other systems associated with airport service equipment. Requirements

• At least two years of experience with troubleshooting and repair on gas/diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, transmission/rear end, basic chassis/brakes
• Fabrication skills (MIG and Arc welding/cutting)
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Possess a High school diploma, GED, or work experience equivalent
• Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Be able to pass a drug screen
• Obtain airport security clearance, which includes an extensive 10-year employment, criminal record, and residence background check

• ASE Certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt response to equipment service requests to troubleshoot and repair: vehicles & belt loaders (unleaded, diesel, and propane engines), lavatory service trucks, air conditioner carts, ground power units, and more
• Perform and track preventative maintenance for each piece of equipment
• Work with station management to help control budget and order parts and supplies
