Diagnose malfunctions and repair Ground Support Equipment (GSE). This role involves advising and training lower-grade workers, inspecting completed maintenance actions, and solving repair issues by studying technical documentation. The mechanic will utilize automated maintenance data systems for monitoring trends, analyzing equipment needs, and documenting actions. Responsibilities include analyzing, diagnosing, and repairing GSE using various electronic test equipment and hand tools, maintaining fuel and grounding systems, and performing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. The position requires inspecting, testing, and operating GSE to ensure serviceability, servicing equipment with necessary fluids, and diagnosing mechanical and electronic malfunctions. Tasks also include disassembling, assembling, repairing, cleaning, and reinstalling GSE components, stenciling and marking GSE, and managing hazardous materials according to environmental regulations. Preparing GSE for storage and deployment, operating GSE towing vehicles, and maintaining equipment records are also key duties. Additionally, the role provides GSE dispatch services, ensuring equipment is positioned for aircraft maintenance and flight operations. Maintaining good housekeeping, tool control, FOD prevention, and safety is paramount. Qualified individuals may perform crane-operator duties, and all must safely operate motor vehicles with a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record. Adherence to company AS9100 and QMS policies is required, along with performing other assigned duties.
