Persons employed as a GSE Mechanic is expected to inspect and maintain ground support equipment used in operations. This includes troubleshooting, repairing, and overhauling ground support equipment. They will also check and service equipment with fuel, water, oil, and hydraulic fluid, and diagnose problems using test equipment and applicable manuals. The role involves building and assembling machines or mechanical components, inspecting machines, engines, and transmissions to diagnose functionality issues, and conducting repairs to ensure maximum reliability. Additionally, responsibilities include performing thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems, cleaning and lubricating machinery components, and replenishing fluids and components. The GSE Mechanic will also provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures, keep logs of work, report on issues, and complete required GSE paperwork.
