About The Position

The Ground Support Equipment Mechanic Inspector (GSEI) works under the guidance of the Team Lead and Supervisor. The GSE Mechanic Inspector will perform inspection on all schedule and unscheduled repairs, operate various types of commercial equipment, non-tactical vehicles, some military equipment, controllers, heating units, generators and other transmission equipment in order to perform troubleshooting actions and diagnose defects; examine equipment/parts for damage or excessive wear; Perform TI for Turn In Documents and Classification on all equipment when required. Must be knowledgeable in computer system (Outlook, Word, Excel & Power Point) and automated logistic information system (G-ARMY).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in Automotive/General Equipment maintenance or an equivalent.
  • Must have a valid REAL ID State Driver’s License with no restrictions.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI Tier 1 Public Trust.
  • Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a U.S. Passport.
  • Must be able to maintain driving privileges aboard the Fort Bragg Installation.
  • Ability to service and repair some tactical, non-tactical, commercial and construction equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and cooling systems and components on various construction equipment, tracked vehicles, lawn equipment and other small engine systems in accordance with appropriate procedures and publications.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret publications with relation to vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to verify serviceability of equipment, determine the economic reparability of the item and determine the extent of maintenance effort and repair parts required to restore the item to the prescribed serviceable condition.
  • Possess knowledge of safety and environmental issues as they related to vehicle maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform following inspection (Acceptance, In process and Final) and some random.
  • Inspects, tests, operates, wheeled and commercial equipment, including, tractors, loaders, generators, wheel/scissor lift, forklifts, pallet jacks and lawn mowers to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation.
  • Determine if equipment faults are, other than fear wear or tear (OTFWT).
  • Disposes of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with all state, local, and federal environmental standards and regulations.
  • Use automated logistics information system (G-Army).
  • Use of computer system (Outlook, Word, Excel & Power Point).
  • Practices good housekeeping, property accountability control, and safety at all times.
  • Additional responsibilities include working with a variety of repair and test equipment including welders, torches, pressure testers and electrical testers to name a few.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
