About The Position

The Ground Support Equipment Lead Inspector (GSELI) Mechanic is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance activities, the diagnostics, inspections and repairs for military equipment, wheeled, power generation and ground support equipment. Works along with team members and sets the pace.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least three (3) to six (6) years of experience in wheeled and Ground support equipment maintenance or an equivalent.
Should have three (3) years of leadership experience within medium-sized military support organizations in the areas of maintenance, supply and services, as well as Army governing regulations, policies and procedures.
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Must have a valid REAL ID State Driver’s License with no restrictions.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI Tier 1 Public Trust.
Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a U.S. Passport.
Must be able to maintain driving privileges aboard the Fort Bragg Installation.
Must be proficient in servicing, troubleshooting and repairing military/civilian wheeled and ground support equipment.
Must be proficient in electrical troubleshooting and repair of ground support equipment such as mobile electric power plants and other self-propelled/non self-propelled equipment.
Must be familiar with the use of electronic technical manuals.
Must be familiar with GCSS- Army program.
Able to react to change productively and handle essential tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

GSE Lead Inspector will direct the work of other mechanics and provide support to maintenance team to ensure satisfactory levels of customer service are maintained for internal and external customers.
Inspects, tests, and operates wheeled and ground support equipment (commercial and Military) to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation.
Uses automated Logistics Information System to maintain equipment records, and document maintenance actions, maintains wheeled and grounding systems.
Services equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air, disassembles and assembles malfunctioning accessories and components.
Disposes of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with all state, local, and federal environmental standards and regulations.
Operates, cleans, inspects, and services wheeled and ground support equipment for maintenance purposes.
Practices good housekeeping, property accountability control, Foreign Object Damage prevention and safety at all times.
Additional responsibilities include working with a variety of repair and test equipment including welders, torches, pressure testers and electrical testers to name a few.
Performs other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.
