About The Position

The Ground Support Equipment Lead Inspector (GSELI) Mechanic is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance activities, the diagnostics, inspections and repairs for military equipment, wheeled, power generation and ground support equipment. Works along with team members and sets the pace.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least three (3) to six (6) years of experience in wheeled and Ground support equipment maintenance or an equivalent.
  • Should have three (3) years of leadership experience within medium-sized military support organizations in the areas of maintenance, supply and services, as well as Army governing regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Must have a valid REAL ID State Driver’s License with no restrictions.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI Tier 1 Public Trust.
  • Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a U.S. Passport.
  • Must be able to maintain driving privileges aboard the Fort Bragg Installation.
  • Must be proficient in servicing, troubleshooting and repairing military/civilian wheeled and ground support equipment.
  • Must be proficient in electrical troubleshooting and repair of ground support equipment such as mobile electric power plants and other self-propelled/non self-propelled equipment.
  • Must be familiar with the use of electronic technical manuals.
  • Must be familiar with GCSS- Army program.
  • Able to react to change productively and handle essential tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • GSE Lead Inspector will direct the work of other mechanics and provide support to maintenance team to ensure satisfactory levels of customer service are maintained for internal and external customers.
  • Inspects, tests, and operates wheeled and ground support equipment (commercial and Military) to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation.
  • Uses automated Logistics Information System to maintain equipment records, and document maintenance actions, maintains wheeled and grounding systems.
  • Services equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air, disassembles and assembles malfunctioning accessories and components.
  • Disposes of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with all state, local, and federal environmental standards and regulations.
  • Operates, cleans, inspects, and services wheeled and ground support equipment for maintenance purposes.
  • Practices good housekeeping, property accountability control, Foreign Object Damage prevention and safety at all times.
  • Additional responsibilities include working with a variety of repair and test equipment including welders, torches, pressure testers and electrical testers to name a few.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.
