About The Position

PolicyMe is a mission-driven company aiming to modernize the insurance industry by making it simpler, more accessible, and customer-first. As a remote-first, Toronto-based startup, we are seeking a Growth Strategy Lead to own the go-to-market strategy across our product portfolio, including Life & Critical Illness, Health & Dental, and Home & Auto. This pivotal senior individual-contributor role reports to the VP of Growth and is responsible for identifying target customers, crafting effective messaging, and determining profitable reach strategies as we expand into new customer segments and launch new products.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years in strategy consulting, investment banking, growth/strategy at a high-growth startup, or brand/category management at a top CPG, ideally with startup or scale-up operating experience.
  • Exceptional analytical skills: ability to structure ambiguous problems, conduct analysis, and formulate clear recommendations.
  • Strong customer instinct: preference for direct customer interaction over assumption-based modeling, with the ability to build models when necessary.
  • A proactive 'doer' attitude, comfortable with hands-on execution in a lean environment.
  • AI-native: daily use of AI for research, analysis, and production, with a drive to elevate team AI utilization.
  • Comfortable owning performance metrics and being measured quarterly.
  • Strong communication skills to align executives, channel owners, and product teams.
  • No insurance experience required; curiosity and work ethic are valued.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the go-to-market strategy for new opportunities, including new customer segments, newly launched product lines, and future partner launches.

  • Own the go-to-market strategy for new and existing customer segments, determining target audiences, winning strategies, and drivers of profitable growth, in partnership with cross-functional teams.
  • Define profitable customer segments and prioritize investment areas.
  • Design and execute go-to-market experiments with a dedicated test budget to validate segments, messages, and channels at a small scale before investing at volume.
  • Make data-backed decisions on scaling, iterating, or discontinuing initiatives.
  • Build playbooks from successful strategies for broader team adoption.
  • Strengthen positioning and point of view for high-performing product lines in collaboration with content and paid teams.
  • Incorporate customer voice into marketing strategies, grounded in research.
  • Coordinate launch readiness with Product, Sales, and Operations teams.
