This Part-Time role in Michigan City focuses on managing participant cases and delivering comprehensive services to prepare clients for successful entry and retention in employment, military service, or postsecondary education. Requirements

  • Associate degree in related field.
  • 2 years related experience.
  • Proficient in problem-solving and developing creative solutions to overcome barriers.
  • Skilled in time management and prioritizing multiple cases efficiently.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and program requirements.
  • Proficient in working respectfully with diverse backgrounds and demonstrating cultural competence.
  • Ability to motivate and encourage youth to achieve career and education goals.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a current driver's license, and provide proof of insurance to travel to different job sites.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Conduct and interpret needs assessments to evaluate literacy, numeracy, occupational skills, prior work experience, interests, aptitudes, and supportive service needs; identify barriers and coordinate appropriate services.
  • Develop and update Career Pathway Plans with customers to establish career goals, WorkOne services, skills development activities, and job search strategies.
  • Facilitate employment and skill development services, to service all requirements of the associated grants attachment.
  • Refer customers to training opportunities, provide necessary vouchers and documentation, and design activities to enhance skills such as basic education, customer service, computer proficiency, and job search techniques.
  • Connect qualified, job-ready customers to employment opportunities and assess financial need when required to justify WorkOne expenditures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in multiple databases to support eligibility and services provided; submit required reports accurately and on time.
  • Build and maintain knowledge of community resources, programs, and training; appropriately refer individuals to partner agencies.
  • Collaborate with WorkOne staff to support customers through employment attainment, placement, and post-exit follow-up for retention; maintain monthly contact until exit and complete quarterly follow-ups for one year post-exit.
  • Ensure compliance with WorkOne Center performance standards and all Federal, State, and organizational regulations; promote WorkOne products and resources, including the Work Ready Program.
  • Assist with special projects, including targeted outreach and development of new training initiatives.
  • Attend staff meetings, support team members as needed, and actively pursue professional development opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
