About The Position

The Growth & Capture Internship Program offers students an immersive experience in federal business development, capture management, AI-enabled research, and strategic growth initiatives within the Government Contracting (GovCon) industry. Through hands-on projects and direct collaboration with Tria Federal's Growth team, interns will support active capture efforts, conduct market and competitive intelligence research, and contribute to the development of strategic teaming frameworks that drive business growth and contract wins. This internship provides the opportunity to strengthen analytical, research, communication, and problem-solving skills while gaining exposure to federal contracting, Shipley-based capture methodologies, market intelligence, teaming strategy, and AI-assisted business development workflows. The Growth & Capture Internship is designed to provide a real-world federal growth and capture experience. Interns will work alongside Tria Federal's Growth team to support live capture activities, conduct AI-assisted market research, and develop a Teaming Heat Map and Teaming Strategy that can be operationalized across future pursuits. Participants will gain exposure to the federal acquisition lifecycle, competitive intelligence methodologies, opportunity analysis, partner evaluation frameworks, and strategic business-development practices. Additionally, interns will learn how emerging AI technologies can be leveraged to improve research, analysis, reporting, and decision-making within a federal growth environment.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.
  • Ability to research, evaluate, and synthesize complex information into actionable recommendations.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team environment.
  • Interest in federal consulting, government contracting, business development, capture management, or growth strategy.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and research methodologies quickly.
  • Undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Political Science, Public Policy, Communications, Marketing, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Economics, Government, or a related field.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

  • Interest or familiarity with AI-enabled tools, automation platforms, or data-analysis technologies preferred.
  • Prior coursework, internships, or project experience related to business operations, research, analytics, consulting, strategy, or communications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting active federal capture efforts through research and analysis.
  • Assisting with opportunity assessments, competitive intelligence, and customer analysis.
  • Developing Opportunity Capture Snapshots for active pursuits.
  • Supporting capture-planning activities and strategic reviews.
  • Conducting research across federal databases and market-intelligence platforms.
  • Analyzing federal spending trends, contract awards, incumbents, and competitive landscapes.
  • Monitoring federal agencies, contract vehicles, and procurement opportunities.
  • Developing competitor and incumbent profiles to support strategic decision-making.
  • Identifying and evaluating potential teaming partners.
  • Researching company capabilities, contract vehicles, certifications, and past performance.
  • Supporting development of a structured teaming-partner library.
  • Evaluating teaming candidates using established scoring methodologies.
  • Leveraging AI-enabled tools to accelerate market research and data analysis.
  • Supporting AI-assisted solicitation reviews, opportunity decomposition, and research workflows.
  • Validating AI-generated outputs through primary-source verification.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve Growth-team efficiency through emerging technologies.
  • Assisting in the design, development, and maintenance of the Teaming Heat Map framework.
  • Supporting partner scoring, weighting methodologies, and data validation activities.
  • Developing visual artifacts and executive-level reporting materials.
  • Maintaining source documentation supporting recommendations and analysis.
  • Developing executive summaries, briefing materials, presentations, and reports.
  • Presenting findings and recommendations to Growth-team stakeholders.
  • Supporting leadership reviews and strategic planning activities.
  • Contributing to documentation and knowledge-management initiatives.
