Growth Marketing Lead

Alchemy•San Francisco, CA
•$180,000 - $220,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Alchemy is seeking a Growth Marketing Lead to strategically direct investment in growth across the entire funnel, from self-serve signups to the enterprise sales process. This role involves high ownership and strategic decision-making, determining where marketing resources and headcount are allocated for maximum return. The Lead will manage existing channels such as paid search, paid social, SEO, AEO, a nascent lifecycle program, and the company website, reallocating investment based on performance. They will also explore and test new channels, identify product-led growth signals, and improve visibility into the self-serve and enterprise sales funnels. This is a senior role for an individual experienced in building full-funnel growth measurement for developer-focused B2B companies, capable of ranking channels by ROI and acting on that data. While not starting from scratch, the role involves evolving an existing AI-powered SEO/AEO system, a defined tool stack, and engaged agencies, with the opportunity to build a team over time.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in growth or performance marketing at a B2B company with a developer-focused audience and both self-serve and enterprise motions.
  • Track record of owning full-funnel measurement: connecting top-of-funnel spend to signups to pipeline, and using that to make investment calls, not just channel-level reporting.
  • Proven ability to rank and reallocate spend + efforts across channels based on ROI, and to kill or scale channels based on evidence.
  • Experience evaluating and managing agency relationships and a marketing tool stack, with the judgment to know what to keep versus replace.
  • Comfortable identifying, testing, and standing up entirely new channels rather than only running the established playbook.
  • Strong cross-functional operator: able to work with Product on in-product growth signals, with Sales/SDR on lead quality and funnel handoff, and with Product Marketing and Ecosystem Marketing on execution you delegate out.
  • Efficiency-obsessed: instinctively pressure-tests where a dollar or a headcount is going before committing to it.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered or AI-assisted growth initiatives.
  • Ability to be in office in SF or NYC 3x a week.

Nice To Haves

  • Startup experience building a growth function from 0 to 1, standing up measurement and channel testing where little existed, not just optimizing an established program.
  • Has built and led a team, or is ready to hire and manage one as the highest-ROI areas justify dedicated headcount.
  • Experience in crypto/Web3 or blockchain infrastructure marketing.
  • Experience marketing an API-first or infrastructure product.

Responsibilities

  • Own full-funnel visibility for Alchemy's growth motion, from self-serve signup through the enterprise sales flow, including the quality of leads reaching the sales team, so the company can see how every channel performs end to end.
  • Set the channel investment strategy each half: given current resourcing and goals, decide where marketing dollars and efforts go, and defend that call with data.
  • Own and continuously re-rank channel ROI, paid search, paid social, SEO, AEO, lifecycle/email, website, ecosystem/partner-driven channels, and any new channel you stand up, identifying the highest-ROI area each cycle and reallocating toward it.
  • Evaluate and evolve the existing tool stack and agencies: keep, renegotiate, or replace based on what's actually driving signups and pipeline.
  • Identify, pitch, and test new channels and signals, including product-led growth signals you pick up working with Product, as Alchemy's audience and the industry evolve, then scope and delegate what you find to the right owner: a product marketer, an ecosystem marketing manager, an agency, or your own hire.
  • Build and lead a team over time: propose and open headcount as the highest-ROI areas demand dedicated ownership, and directly manage the specialists and agencies you bring on.
  • Represent growth and channel performance in the twice-yearly marketing planning cycle and retro, as a primary voice in where the company focuses its tactics next half, backed by your own data.
