RampSan Francisco, CA
$168,000 - $231,000Onsite

About The Position

Ramp is seeking a Growth Manager, Verticalization & Startups GM to own the entire startup motion for the company. The goal is to have 90%+ of every newly incorporated company in the US start their financial life on Ramp. This is a general manager role with P&L responsibility, covering acquisition, product strategy, onboarding, pricing, incentives, positioning, lifecycle, and pipeline for the startup segment. The role requires deep community engagement, ideally with prior startup founder experience. The position is based in San Francisco and reports directly to the VP of Growth. Collaboration with Product on startup needs and onboarding experience is key, as is owning the pricing and incentive structure for the segment. AI fluency and a point of view on agent-first GM organizations are expected.

Requirements

  • Started a company, or operated at the founding-team level of an early startup, experiencing the incorporation-to-traction journey firsthand.
  • Deeply and currently embedded in the startup community (accelerators, angels, founder networks, SF startup social scene), with recognition from the community.
  • 5+ years of experience in founding, growth, GTM, or general management, with a proven ability to own outcomes end-to-end.
  • A GM instinct: ability to think in P&L, make tradeoffs across product, pricing, and marketing, and own a number independently.
  • Demonstrable AI fluency: experience building or adopting AI tools/workflows that significantly improved output.
  • Sharp written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must live in or relocate to San Francisco and be physically present in the market.

Nice To Haves

  • Went through or ran a YC, Techstars, Neo, South Park Commons, or equivalent program.
  • Existing audience or following in the founder community.
  • Built a popular AI tool or agent that automated a repeatable workflow.
  • Experience with fintech, banking, or developer-led product distribution.
  • Familiarity with comparison and AEO SEO as a land-grab tactic.
  • Angel invested or advised early companies.

Responsibilities

  • Own positioning: Define how Ramp is presented to new founders versus Series B CFOs, and craft comparison stories against competitors.
  • Own acquisition: Build comprehensive growth strategies including community and events, founder/angel networks, accelerator/incubator partnerships, SEO, paid acquisition, referrals, and incentives. Be physically present in startup hubs.
  • Own product strategy for the segment: Determine initial product needs for startups, define the day-zero onboarding experience, and identify product gaps to advocate for with the Product team.
  • Own onboarding: Streamline the incorporation-to-funded-card process to be the fastest and most intuitive in the market.
  • Own pricing and incentives: Design the offer and incentive programs (partner credits, founder perks) to make Ramp the default choice at incorporation.
  • Be the face of Ramp in the startup community: Represent the company at events, host dinners, and speak at demo days to build strong founder associations.
  • Own the number: Drive towards the goal of 90%+ of newly incorporated US startups using Ramp, by building models, instrumenting the funnel, and reporting on a key metric.
