About The Position

Holmes Murphy is seeking candidates for their 2027 Summer Internship Program, specifically for a Growth & Development Intern opportunity in their West Des Moines, IA office. This 10-week program is designed to provide an immersive, hands-on experience in the insurance industry, offering invaluable insights and allowing interns to explore their talents and interests. The program is structured to provide a comprehensive learning experience, even for those new to insurance, covering the intricacies of the industry and its operations through educational workshops. Interns will have the chance to discover various career paths within Holmes Murphy, develop communication skills through presentations, network with industry experts and leaders for mentorship, and engage in community activities to become part of the company's vibrant culture.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled or in pursuit of enrollment at a 4-year institution.
• Examples of prior majors’ interns have pursued: Business Administration, Finance, Sales, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Health Promotion, Risk Management & Insurance, and more.

Nice To Haves

• Prior work experience is a plus, preferably in a customer service or administrative role.

Responsibilities

• Be an integral part of meaningful G&D projects and initiatives.
• Gain exposure to daily G&D functions, professionals, and business leaders.
• Encourage a positive, energized and respectful learning environment.
• Provide support to the team in the following areas: Learning Management system administration and reporting, Create and develop materials to support training initiatives, Support our numerous summer development programs, Assist in creation of facilitation guides and instructional materials, Coordinate and participate in any off-site events, Perform special projects as identified by the needs of the business.
