About The Position
The Grower Helper – Section Grower Intern is a Growing department internship focused on hands-on greenhouse crop production. Working closely with the Section Grower or Head Grower, this intern will support daily crop care activities while contributing to a crop improvement project – gaining exposure to production practices, crop monitoring, and trial-based decision-making.
Requirements
- Interest in horticulture, agriculture, or plant/crop science
- Comfort working outdoors and in a greenhouse environment
- Strong attention to detail and observation skills
- Ability to follow safety and biosecurity protocols closely
- Willingness to learn and take direction from Section and Head Growers
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams
Responsibilities
- Learn greenhouse crop production practices
- Support watering, fertilizing, spraying, and sanitation
- Monitor crop quality and health
- Assist with growing trials and crop evaluations
- Follow all safety and biosecurity protocols
- Engage in cross-functional learning
- Support ongoing projects and engage in data collection
- Run assessments and identify areas for improvement
