About The Position

The Grow Assistant performs grow-related tasks and procedures at an assigned facility. The role operates under The Verdes Standard, which emphasizes exceeding expectations, continuous improvement, showing initiative, demonstrating integrity, engaging in courageous conversations, and being responsive within 24 hours to queries and concerns. Cleanliness is paramount to proper cultivation, requiring all grow rooms and cultivation areas, including equipment and tools, to be cleaned daily.

Requirements

Ability to work a 40-hour work week including, at times, holidays, weekends, snow days, etc.
Ability to work without consecutive scheduled days off.
Ability to work in adverse environmental conditions including hot, cold, humid, confined, strong smells, and others.
Ability to perform dirty, wet, and laborious activities.
Ability to work well in team-based systems, demonstrating accountability, communication, reliability, and time management.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, up to 8 hours a day.
Able to remain stationary, while performing repetitive motion for up to 8 hours a day.
Can repetitively lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, & reach.
Must be able to tolerate a reasonable amount of work stress.
Ability to work with live & dry plants, some of which can be irritants to the skin, eyes, ears, and nose.
Willingness and ability to work on most days of the year, including holidays, weekends, and snow days.

Responsibilities

Perform routine daily tasks including hand-watering, transplanting, pruning, spraying, room/row turnovers/sanitation, container washing, work area and facility cleanliness, and moving plants throughout the facilities.
Identify pests and plant issues.
Ensure all corporate and grow policies and procedures are carried out safely and accurately.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Focus on transplanting, watering, pruning, harvesting, and pot washing activities during the first year of employment.
Clean all grow rooms and cultivation areas daily, including all equipment and tools used throughout the day.
