About The Position

The Group Therapist will implement trauma-informed and therapeutic services within the creative process to enhance the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of the children and youth receiving PRTF/ residential services. Therapist will collaborate as an active member of the treatment team.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Family Therapy or Counseling from an accredited institution
  • Certified or licensed in at least one of the below: LMSW, LSW, LSCSW, LCSW, LPC, LCPC, LMFT, LCMFT or other professional license issued/approved by the state(s) in which you practice.
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance

Responsibilities

  • Practice conduct that displays respect for all KVC colleagues and community stakeholders regardless of age, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion, or ethnicity.
  • Conducts individual, group and family therapy.
  • Participates as a part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Completes required documentation, including but not limited to: intake assessments, treatment plans, crisis and safety plans, monthly assessments and session notes.
  • Enter documentation accurately and timely per KVC Missouri guidelines.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.
  • Requires comprehensive knowledge of youth’s history, plan of care and discharge plan and available for consultation.
  • May participate in Utilization Review functions and reporting to insurance companies and payors.
  • Maintain current employee profile in KVC’s HRIS tool.
  • Maintain current knowledge of and adhere to all KVC policies.
  • Provides crisis intervention when necessary and use approved tools, techniques, and resources available.
  • Participates in treatment review meetings with guardian and community partners in person, virtually or by phone.
  • Maintain compliance with state, federal and all licensure and accrediting bodies.
  • Provide timely, fiscally responsible supply requests.
  • Promotes community integration of clients.
  • Responsible for the storage and tracking of Art therapy supplies and equipment.
  • Writes clinical reports from an Art therapy perspective.
  • Consults with staff on group therapy issues to increase quality and efficiency of treatment services.
  • Maintains applicable credentials.
  • Maintains compliance with state, federal, and JC guidelines.
