About The Position

Wellfound is hiring a full-time Group Therapist to join its inpatient team at Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital, a 120-bed acute-care psychiatric hospital in Tacoma, Washington. The hospital provides care to voluntary and involuntary patients and is accredited by the Washington State Department of Health and The Joint Commission. The role provides routine daily treatment activities in a fast-paced acute inpatient psychiatric unit. The Group Therapist works with adult patients with behavioral health disorders to support psychiatric stabilization and return to the community. The role emphasizes whole-person-centered care and a team-based approach, with group treatment facilitation as the primary duty. The position is four 10-hour shifts per week, Wednesday through Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Requirements

Master’s degree in social work, psychology, social sciences, recreation, music therapy, dance therapy, art therapy, occupational therapy, or a counseling-related field.
Washington State Counselor Agency Affiliated Registration within 90 days of hire, a current associate or independent mental health license in Washington State, or a music therapy license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
One year of experience in a psychiatric setting.
Join the SEIU Union within 30 calendar days of employment and remain a member in good standing, unless approved for a religious exemption.

Responsibilities

Provide routine daily treatment activities in an acute inpatient psychiatric unit.
Work with adult patients with behavioral health disorders to support psychiatric stabilization and return to the community.
Facilitate group treatment.
Document patient care in accordance with facility policies and regulatory guidance.
