About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is a nationwide network of drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers offering detox, residential, PHP, IOP, and outpatient services. The Group Therapist will work at the detox and residential treatment facility in Aurora, Colorado, conducting group-based clinical programming and supporting clients in their recovery. The listed schedule is Tuesday through Saturday; part-time weekend availability may also be available.

The therapist conducts group therapy, psychoeducation, and process groups tailored to clients’ challenges and needs; supports clients in developing coping skills and recovery tools; collaborates with clinical staff on client progress; escalates significant concerns to the Clinical Director; and maintains group-session documentation and required clinical assessments and individual charting.

Requirements

• A valid license necessary to practice as a clinician in Colorado; the posting specifies CAS.
• If in recovery, at least one year of sustained sobriety is required.
• Excellent interpersonal, observational, and communication skills.
• Strong presence and sound judgment.
• Warm, dignified, and honest character that inspires trust and models recovery principles.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling, or a related field preferred.
• At least one year of experience in the treatment industry preferred.

Responsibilities
