Group Product Manager, Financial Systems

Flock
$200,000 - $250,000Hybrid

About The Position

As Flock Safety continues to scale, we are investing heavily in our enterprise platforms to ensure our systems are as robust and sophisticated as our business. We are looking for a Group Product Manager to step in as the strategic owner of our Financial Systems domain. In this role, you will define the vision, roadmap, and core technical requirements for our end-to-end Contract-to-Ledger ecosystem, ensuring our billing, revenue recognition, and financial reporting platforms are architected for long-term scalability. You will serve as a high-leverage strategic partner to our finance and executive leadership teams, collaborating closely with business units to translate complex commercial strategies and accounting policies into elegant system logic. While working in partnership with dedicated enterprise engineering and configuration teams who execute the platform builds, you will maintain absolute ownership over the product backlog, functional data schemas, and software capabilities. Your mission is to eliminate manual operational workarounds by designing automated system validation gates, maximizing the native capabilities of our technology stack, and establishing an uncompromised enterprise data handshake that prepares our business for public-market readiness. This role reports to the VP, Product Platform.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of Product Management experience, including direct management of Product Managers.
  • Deep, hands-on experience running product management or enterprise architecture within the Order-to-Cash, Record-to-Report and Hire-To-Pay lifecycles.
  • Fluent in accounting systems language and have a sophisticated understanding of deferred revenue schemas, automated billing schedules, accounts receivable aging logic, and ERP behaviors.
  • Advanced operational experience managing configurations, data integrations, and subscription modules within enterprise platforms—specifically Salesforce Billing, NetSuite ERP, NetSuite ARM, Rippling, Carta, Fidelity, or specialized subscription management applications (such as ZoneBilling).
  • Proven track record of acting as a consultative peer to executive stakeholders rather than a passive order-taker.
  • Ability to confidently navigate competing business requests, advocate for system scalability, and help business units align on repeatable, standardized processes before committing to technical code.
  • Demonstrated excellence in managing a technical product backlog, grooming user stories, and sequencing priorities.
  • Pride in personal technical ownership and excel at authoring comprehensive functional specifications, schemas, and technical execution criteria.
  • Experience successfully structuring, directing, and holding external implementation partners or technical consultants accountable to clear, co-delivery delivery gates while maintaining control of the core product strategy internally.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure billing, revenue recognition, and financial reporting platforms are architected for long-term scalability.
  • Serve as a high-leverage strategic partner to finance and executive leadership teams.
  • Collaborate closely with business units to translate complex commercial strategies and accounting policies into elegant system logic.
  • Maintain absolute ownership over the product backlog, functional data schemas, and software capabilities.

  • Maximize the native capabilities of our technology stack.
  • Establish an uncompromised enterprise data handshake that prepares our business for public-market readiness.
  • Build trusted, consultative working relationships with senior stakeholders across Finance, Accounting, and Business Operations.
  • Establish a clear operating cadence for updates, decisions, and cross-functional roadmap alignment.
  • Complete a structured technical read-in of our end-to-end Contract-to-Ledger pipeline, mapping the key integrations between Salesforce and NetSuite.
  • Assess the current subscription lifecycle and billing schedules, identifying historical system bottlenecks and process friction points.
  • Formally take ownership of the financial systems product backlog, aligning with dedicated engineering and configuration teams on current sprint priorities.
  • Transition your domain to a proactive product delivery model, establishing high-quality standards for how your team defines functional system specifications.
  • Convert first-month diagnostic findings into a clear, prioritized execution plan to resolve immediate high-friction billing or reporting bottlenecks.
  • Establish a robust cross-functional prioritization framework that ensures the product organization retains full ownership of sprint sequencing and scope trade-offs.
  • Partner with finance operations to design scalable systemic data gates inside our CRM to enforce transaction and booking compliance before they move downstream.
  • Lead requirements-first evaluations of our current technology stack against future subscription and platform tools to protect the business from unnecessary software bloat.
  • Publish and secure cross-functional executive alignment on a comprehensive 6-to-12-month Financial Systems roadmap prioritized by scale, stability, and compliance.
  • Deliver a meaningful automation milestone, deploying Phase 1 pre-close data validation gates to prevent transaction errors from hitting downstream ledger cycles.
  • Successfully integrate automated forecasting data pipelines to provide finance teams with real-time, system-driven actuals instead of manual reporting overrides.
  • Implement a standardized "Learn-to-Own" governance model for external technical consultants to ensure internal teams maintain long-term platform ownership.
  • Solidify platform change-control protocols across all core financial applications to embed the automated audit trails necessary for public market readiness (SOX compliance).
