About The Position

YipitData is seeking a Group Product Manager to lead and grow its Data Feeds product management team. This role involves owning the strategy and performance of a portfolio of data products, developing a team of Product Managers, and contributing to a scalable feeds business for various clients including fundamental investors, quantitative funds, and corporate customers. It is a player-coach role where the individual will manage the team, set portfolio direction, and also directly own a strategic data feed or quant-focused initiative. The opportunity includes building differentiated products, combining data and capabilities for greater value, and making feeds easier to evaluate, integrate, and use. The Group Product Manager will help determine investment areas, product integration, and how to translate data advantages into durable growth.

Requirements

  • Significant product management experience, typically 7+ years, including ownership of commercial data products, data feeds, or similarly data-intensive B2B products.
  • Experience directly managing and developing product managers, with evidence of improving both team performance and individual growth.
  • A track record of taking products from customer discovery through launch and scaling, with measurable customer and business outcomes.
  • Strong portfolio judgment: ability to prioritize across products, allocate investment, and make difficult tradeoffs.
  • Commercial fluency, including experience contributing to pricing, packaging, revenue growth, retention, or product economics.
  • Hands-on analytical ability, including proficiency in SQL and comfort using Python to investigate data and assess product questions.
  • Technical fluency in data products, including schemas, methodologies, quality, delivery mechanisms, and the implications of product changes for clients.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills, with the ability to align teams you do not directly manage.
  • A desire to remain a hands-on product owner while building and leading a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with alternative data, financial data, or investment research products.
  • Familiarity with fundamental, quantitative, or systematic investment workflows, including dataset evaluation, backtesting, and integration.
  • Experience building a portfolio that serves multiple customer segments or combines multiple data sources.
  • Experience with third-party data partnerships, licensing considerations, and vendor dependencies.
  • Familiarity with APIs, cloud-based data delivery, and data quality and operational reliability practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, coach, and grow a team of product managers, enhancing their skills in customer discovery, strategic judgment, execution, and commercial ownership.
  • Establish clear product responsibilities, goals, and decision-making expectations, empowering PMs with autonomy and support.
  • Build effective practices for planning, roadmap reviews, customer feedback, and performance measurement.
  • Recruit and develop talent for the growing team, maintaining a high standard for product thinking and accountability.
  • Own a cohesive product portfolio strategy aligned with the Head of Data Feeds' direction, defining product integration, customer needs fulfillment, and differentiated value.
  • Guide PMs in developing product visions and roadmaps that strengthen individual products and the overall portfolio.
  • Prioritize across product roadmaps and shared capabilities, balancing customer value, commercial opportunity, and resources; partner with the Head of Data Feeds on investment decisions.
  • Work with PMs to validate use cases and commercial demand early, including during new data source evaluations.
  • Identify portfolio gaps, overlaps, and opportunities for combining datasets, reusing methodologies, and extending products across customer segments.
  • Recommend offerings for scaling, improvement, consolidation, or retirement based on customer feedback and product performance, and lead execution of these decisions.
  • Serve as the hands-on PM for a strategically important data feed or quant-focused feed initiative, owning its vision, roadmap, requirements, and outcomes.
  • Lead customer discovery, investigate underlying data, and translate customer needs into clear product decisions.
  • Partner with Data, Engineering, Data Science, and Quant Research to assess feasibility, shape requirements, and launch products.
  • Stay close to client evaluations and integrations, using feedback to improve the product and establish reusable team practices.
  • Share accountability with commercial partners for portfolio revenue growth, retention, expansion, and product economics.
  • Partner with Revenue, Client Strategy, Product Marketing, and Solutions Consulting on pricing, packaging, positioning, and sales/evaluation processes.
  • Build a clear portfolio story to help customers understand product fit and integration.
  • Balance near-term client requests with repeatable market opportunities, ensuring commitments inform a scalable roadmap.
  • Define and track success through customer adoption, evaluation conversion, time to value, retention, and commercial results.
  • Establish product expectations for data quality, coverage, timeliness, documentation, and delivery across the portfolio.
  • Partner with Data and Engineering on quality controls, monitoring, change management, and issue resolution.
  • Improve customer discovery, evaluation, onboarding, integration, and ongoing support for feeds, collaborating with Applications and client-facing teams.
  • Ensure clients understand each product’s methodology, limitations, historical changes, and appropriate use cases.
  • Help build a repeatable experience for quant and systematic customers, including data history, consistency, and transparency for rigorous evaluation.
  • Align priorities and responsibilities across Product, Data, Engineering, Research, Quant, Applications, and commercial teams.
  • Partner with Quant Research on systematic investor requirements and research-informed product improvements.
  • Work with data sourcing and partnerships teams to evaluate opportunities against customer needs, licensing constraints, quality, and economics.
  • Communicate strategy, tradeoffs, progress, and risks clearly to leadership and cross-functional partners.
