About The Position

The Group Manager, Wire Payment Operations oversees a significant domestic and international SWIFT payment function, with accountability for execution, risk and controls, client service, operating model effectiveness, ISO 20022 readiness, and platform modernization. The role requires payments expertise, people leadership, senior stakeholder influence, and a future-focused mindset to improve service, resilience, automation, and evolving payment capabilities.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or college diploma in Business or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years relevant banking, payments, or financial services experience, including 3+ years people management, with domestic or international wire payments and SWIFT processing experience.
  • Advanced process management knowledge in high-volume, time-sensitive, risk-sensitive, client-facing operations.
  • Experience leading Global PayPlus platform transition, payment modernization, process redesign, change framework, or implementation initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of SWIFT messaging, ISO 20022 standards, payment controls, exceptions, investigations, and time-critical payment environments.
  • Senior management communication, negotiation, stakeholder influence, client escalation, and relationship management skills.
  • Sound judgment balancing client experience, productivity, risk appetite, controls, automation, and data-driven improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a significant high-value domestic and international wire payment function, including SWIFT and ISO 20022 flows, exceptions, investigations, repairs, service standards, controls, and critical client commitments.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing wire payments team; set objectives, grow capability; promote collaboration, change readiness, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage operational, technology, regulatory, fraud, sanctions, and transition risks across the wire payment lifecycle; ensure escalation protocols, controls, and compliance.
  • Own operating model improvement, automation, and workflow optimization to strengthen speed, accuracy, scalability, resilience, and client experience.
  • Partner across Technology, Product, Risk, Compliance, and Operations to lead Global PayPlus platform transition and ISO 20022 readiness.
  • Act as top escalation point for complex client and stakeholder issues; build trusted relationships with clients, correspondent banks, counterparties, vendors, and partners.
  • Track productivity, risk, service, and transformation KPIs; provide executive-ready reporting on performance, client impacts, risks, dependencies, and recommended actions.
