Group Life Counselor I
About The Position
Sea Mar Community Health Centers is seeking a Group Life Counselor I, an entry-level Human Service position, to join their multi-disciplinary treatment team. This role provides direct services to patients in a residential setting who have a primary diagnosis of chemical dependency and may also have mental health problems. The position involves a combination of admission procedures, monitoring patient behavior, facilitating educational groups, milieu management, and supervising patients. An entry-level individual is expected to have a basic understanding of these direct service responsibilities.
Requirements
- Must either hold an Associate’s degree, OR have a high school diploma with at least one year of experience that is relevant to the primary responsibilities of this position.
- Pre-hire and annual employee health screening is required.
- Must pass a TB test at time of hire, and annually thereafter.
- Annual influenza vaccine required.
- Must have a valid Washington State driver's license
- Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR within 90 days of hire date and must maintain current BLS CPR throughout employment.
- Must receive a satisfactory background check.
- Must pass required BH EHR system trainings.
Responsibilities
- Maintain professional standards and treatment policies
- Utilize electronic health record, email and medication system
- Attend regular staff meetings
- Support the clinical staff with the patient's individualized needs
- Monitor the clients
- Conduct patient urinalysis, intakes and searches
- Assist with program housekeeping
- Monitoring of medication and utilize electronic MAR
