Counseling In Schools (CIS) is a dynamic community-based organization founded in 1986 with a mission to promote the emotional and social growth of children so that they can thrive in school and succeed in life. Our expert team includes licensed mental health and youth development professionals who fully integrate into the community, providing programs that equip children, families, teachers, and administrators with the right tools for preventing and coping with the challenges they face. Position Summary: Counseling In Schools is seeking passionate and enthusiastic people to fill the part-time Group Leader position. This role is critical to the successful operation of the Counseling In Schools school year programs. You will assist Activity Specialists in providing a safe and positive environment for school-age children during opportunities for recreation, learning, interaction, and academic/personal growth. Additionally, you will supervise a consistent group of students, implementing engaging activities and supporting SEL, service learning, and academic enrichment under the direction of the Program Director or Assistant Program Director.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old with one year of direct experience working with children under 13.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must complete 15 hours of PD annually.

Responsibilities
- Facilitate group activities and ensure participant safety.
- Support youth behavior management using restorative approaches.
- Assist with attendance, documentation, and student engagement.
- Maintain open communication with families and school staff.
